Delivering Out to Kempner
You landed in the right place. Kempner is a straight shot west of us on 190 and well inside our radius — which is good news if you have ever tried to find scratch cooking out this way on a weeknight.
~7 miles from our kitchen · well inside our 10-mile radius
Kempner, Texas
Kempner is small — around a thousand people — sitting in Lampasas County where US-190 runs west out of Copperas Cove into ranch country. It took its name from Harris Kempner, the Galveston businessman tied up with the railroad that put half these towns on the map.
It is the kind of place where the nearest proper kitchen matters, because there are not many of them, and the drive to anything else is a real drive. We are the closest one, and we come to you.
You Landed in the Right Place
Roasted pernil with spanish rice and sweet plantains. Caldo simmered that morning, by the bowl or by the quart. Curry over jasmine rice. Korean wings. The sort of cooking that cannot be hurried and does not travel well from far away — which is precisely why being seven miles up the road matters.
We also build charcuterie boards to order, sized anywhere from one person to twenty, which has quietly become the thing people out this way call us about when something is being celebrated.
Roasted pernil with spanish rice and sweet plantains.
Classic chicken soup with veggies and rice or noodles. By the bowl or the quart.
Pork or chicken with potatoes, carrots, onion and organic coconut curry sauce.
Built to order, from a single square up to a board for twenty.
Check your address before you count on us.
Kempner itself sits comfortably inside our ten-mile radius. The city of Lampasas, further west along 190, does not — it is roughly eighteen miles out, which is well beyond where we can get food to you in good shape.
Kempner is in Lampasas County, which is why the name turns up on this page. The county, yes. The city, sadly not.
About Jess's
Jess's Juice Bar & Grill is an independent restaurant at 1301 E Business Hwy 190 in Copperas Cove — about 7 miles from Kempner.
Juice pressed to order with no preservatives or additives. Smoothies and açaí bowls from whole fruit. Breakfast served all day. Tortillas baked here in eight flavors. Burgers, salads, wraps, soups and comfort plates cooked to order.
We cap delivery at ten miles on purpose. Beyond that, food stops arriving the way it left, and we would rather have a smaller map than a worse plate.
